Score Bb or A# in key of G-major?

I'm scoring a piece of music that has a section that pivots between B and Bb. It's in the key of G-major. For the Bb notes my program is automatically scoring it as a Bb... should I change it in the score to A#? Thanks!

If it's just a decorative, melodic, fairly quick, down up down up etc kind of effect (like Fur Elise) then yes - make it A#

If it's a slower effect with changes of harmony, like G major to G minor, then keep it as Bb

I'd say it depends on the context.
A good rule of thumb is sharps tend to ascend whereas flats descend (although there are exceptions).
If it's a lower auxiliary (neighbour) note, it would be a sharp, not a flat.

If it's borrowing from the parallel (G) minor, then obviously Bb would make more sense. And, all other things being equal, Bb is more common than A#.
