Question about Lonely Boy key signature
May 05, 2017 02:25PM
I'm trying to figure out the theory behind the song Lonely Boy by the Black Keys, but need help. The chord progression is E Maj G Maj A Maj, but the key (I believe) is E Min. For example, the riff uses the E minor pentatonic. So, my question is how do you have the E and A major chords in the key of E minor?

A music piece that started in, say, the key of E minor could move into another key (E Major, that is the so called paralell key; D Major; etc) for a while and then return to the former key; the reason behind such changes are often that by so doing enables some harmonization of the overall melody that could not be achieved through the fixing of the key; etc. Greetings
