Transcribing from another instrument to guitar.

Hello,

Ttw and Athair's answers to my thread "Species Counterpoint, I am having Trouble" got me going and so I decided to transcribe Bach's Aria di Postiglione, from Harpsichord to guitar.

Although I am learning species counterpoint, I would still benefit from some not too techie comments from you experts, eg I thought that keeping chords in root position on the strong beats might be safe, but not all the time.

What I did was quite simply, brought the bass up to the treble clef and then made it playable on the guitar (I hope). But I would like to put my own stamp, so to speak on any future transcriptions.

It will be nice to hear from you, have a lovely Easter everyone.

Im not sure whether bringing the bass to the treble clef has
the aim of inverting the cp

Beside that, the way i see it a cp approach would enable as to take different dispositions of any root position chord as meaning different things (harmonically, etc). If you will.take a.look at the approach at the post "chord dispositions" (december 2017).

Greetings

Thank you Athair

This is really biting off more than I can chew, it's such a fascinating branch of music though. Many thanks.
