Hi!

I'm trying to write phrase diagrams for Serenade for Flute, Violin, and Viola, op.25 by Beethoven. I am diagramming the phrases as periods(or should they be sentences?)

I don't think this site is allowing me to post a link to the piece on IMSLP, so I'd really appreciate if you could look up the score; it's pretty easy to find there. It's: Serenade for Flute, Violin, and Viola Op.25, Beethoven

So far, I have this down but am unsure if it is correct:

(binary form)

A section:

___________________antecedent________________

{ a -[m.1-2]-a' [m.3-4]- a"[m. 5-6] b [m.7-10] c [m.11-12] }

I________antecedent_______I I__consequent____I H.C.(half cadence)

B section:

-------------------------------consequent----------------------

{d -[m.13-17] a' [m.18-19] a"' [m.20-21] c' {m.22-28] }

P.A.C.[perfect authentic cadence]

Some questions: is it possible to have an antecedent and a consequent *within an antecedent phrase(as pictured above)?

Also, I noticed that the material in measures 3-6 return in the "B" section in measures 18-21-I'm wondering if I labeled it incorrectly in the A section by labeling a prime m.3-4 and a" m.5-6, and feeling like because that specific group of measures returns in measures 18-21 I should have labeled it as one group, i.e. a' [3-6]. However, I'm confused since when the material in m.3-6 returns in measures 18-21, the second half of it is a variation and not exact. Which is why I labeled it as a"' in the consequent below.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!
