music teacher certification

Wondering if anybody here has taken the proficiency testing in music history
through Music Teacher's National.

One of the questions has to do with identifying "nicknames" for composer's pieces

Where would I find information on that?

There's some info on the various nicknames for composer's pieces here:

... though it's a description for a radio show on the topic (which you could probably order if you needed it). I'm not sure that it's a topic that's often covered by itself; the popular pieces that acquired nicknames all have their own histories.

I don't have any info on the certification -- maybe someone else will help out on this one.
